PROJECT OUTLINE

Wagners Corporation Pty Ltd engaged Precinct Urban Planning to provide town planning assistance for the Material Change of Use for Air Service uses to facilitate the proposed Regional Trade Distribution Centre (RTDC) at Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport. The centre will be housed in a single building located airside approximately 250 metres north-west of the Airport Terminal. Precinct coordinated specialist assessments including stormwater, engineering, traffic impact and noise impact advice.

The distribution centre will have two transfer areas and three cold room storage areas and will be an integral component of the domestic and international Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport servicing Toowoomba, the Surat Basin and the Darling Downs Region. It will support rapid airfreight access for the region’s high-value agricultural sector. The export products will mainly comprise meat and dairy products as well as fruit and vegetables. Eventually it is expected that the facility will supply five freight planes per week with an average of 100 tonnes of freight per plane.
