PROJECT OUTLINE

Precinct Urban Planning assisted Pyrocal Pty Ltd with their development application for a Thermal Waste Reprocessing and Treatment Facility at the Wellcamp Business Park. The development was approved by Toowoomba Regional Council in 2023, and construction on the $10 million facility will start the same year.

Pyrocal, a Toowoomba based company, uses continuous carbonisation technology (CCT) which reduces landfill mass by thermally reprocessing and treating non-recyclable general and regulated wastes and clinical wastes into biochar for use in the agricultural, mining and construction sectors. The facility will include multiple processing lines for differing waste streams. The facility will also include R&D and manufacturing components to produce waste processing plant and equipment.
