PROJECT OUTLINE

Western Downs Regional Council (WDRC) engaged Precinct Urban Planning to provide town planning services for the preparation and lodgement of a combined development application for a Material Change of Use to establish an Installation for a Water Treatment Plant and Reconfiguring a Lot for a Boundary Realignment (2 into 2 Lots) in Dalby, Qld.

This development, approved by WDRC in 2023, will provide additional water supply for Dalby and the surrounding community to ensure future water security and cater for the growing needs of the community. The facility will include 2 bores, a reverse osmosis/desalination treatment plant and 2 large evaporation ponds. The subject site is located outside of Council’s water supply area, however, the development also involves the establishment of 13km of water infrastructure, which will provide water supply to the development and adjacent Council owned sites. The development will also be serviced by on-site effluent disposal infrastructure in accordance with the relevant requirements.
